It wasn't too long ago that Oracle treated the cloud like an annoying pop song – something overblown, trendy, and worth only fleeting attention. But the Salesforce.com storm and other realities seem to have changed their tune. In fact, it appears that Oracle is moving from humming a cloud-database-and-Java-server melody to composing an opera - they now offer possibly the widest gamut of cloud based capabilities available, at least from an IT vendor rather than a retailer or service provider like Amazon or Rackspace.
